Hi,

Just wondering if anybody has used a Deltran battery tender and what they think of it. I did search but did not find anything on them on the site.

My Dealer sells them and they are one fifth the cost of a BMW charger. It comes with clips or a plug that connects to the Battery, that is meant to be left on all the time.

Get the VTwin one that makes HD tractor noises when connected.... :)

Optimate have a distributor in North America knocking out 110v versions of their stuff. Tried and tested product.

You want:-

It's on backorder at the moment, hope it doesn't mean they can't get 110v ones from www.accumate.co.uk.

Thanks, I will call around and see if anybody carries it over here. The problem is that I need a charger soon. I was looking at the "Battery Tender Junior"'

I just looked on the web and found a bike shop in Toronto (were I am from) that sells them. It's over 2,000 miles from Vancouver. It's the place were my dad bought my brother and I our first bike.

This is want I found: "After 97 years of service to the community, McBride Cycle is closing its doors. The company is in receivership – EVERYTHING – absolutely EVERYTHING - must be sold!"

I can't believe it. :( All the times I spent in there 30 plus years back, looking at the bikes, drooling over them.:(

Deltran Battery Tenders are fine. They don't have all the lights etc. that the Optimate stable offer, but keep my R1200GS battery up to scratch (I connect the Battery Tender directly to the battery posts). I have a garage full of bikes and use all kinds of chargers (including Optimate). I would say the Optimate is better at recovering a badly sulphated battery, but otherwise the Deltran products are just as good. A Deltran charger has kept the battery in tip-top condition on one of my bikes for over four years now.
In my view, for what it is worth, avoid C-TEK chargers.
