I’ve installed a Denali CanSmart this afternoon following the instruction. However when I plug it into the computer it says not connected to power. I have checked the fuse and the battery terminal connection and all looks fine. Any ideas?

Are they powered by a switched live which necessitates having ignition on?

It’s not the USB lead, its the main power as its not activating the devices attached.

power should go directly to the battery so not switched,if power and inline fuse ok it might be the unit,i have just returned my cansmart as it was intermitantly not powering up the soundbomb and aux brake lamp,i powered those up independantly and they worked.

I just fitted one to a 70GS and had a problem with the Soundbomb working. First thing R&G asked me was had I connected it to the correct plug on the cab-bus system, I had.
It turned out to be a duff cansmart unit which the changed. One thing to check is the colour of the LED lights at the end of the cansmart.
Hope you get it fixed.

Thanks, there’s no light until you plug the usb in then it’s green so might be a bad unit.
