Denali Sound Bomb on a 1250GS Problem

My soundbomb managed to snag on the fork seal spring and nearly had me off. Felt like a flat front tyre. The only way I can get the sound bomb to clear the forks is to push it back until it nearly hits the shock. Am I doing something wrong? Checked the bracket and it is round the right way. Also reassembled and retightened everything now.

I read they don’t fit a lowered bike, the bracket has a side slightly longer than the other so has to be correct way around, when watching videos for fitting these the horn is pushed right back before tightening.

Good luck with finding the issue.

Have you got a factory low model,

If so the compact wont fit , you need the split DAMHIK

but even fitting the compact it is very close, and the bracket does have a right and wrong way ..

One way pushes the unit into the forks, the other onky just clears the them .


And yes if i recall it has to be pushed back almost to touching the shock ..

I never can understand why this horn so popular, more chance this kill you than horn not so loud, halve size of this mybe ok, but so big in forks, big danger.

Not a factory lowered bike. I just thought it was odd the angle it had to sit at to clear the forks. Will try it like this.

Edit - here you go, though the handlebar is in the lock position - hope this helps.

Your shock and my shock aren't the same - however, mine is a 1200, not a 1250 - clearly there's a reservoir between my horn and spring


Mine's a GSA too.

Fitted mine last week to my second 1250 and apart from being close to the forks, the only real issue is the brake hose touching the bottom of the horn.

There should be a braided sleeve and a couple of cable ties to put on and protect the brake pipe - there wasn't one when I had mine fitted but I checked with Denali in the USA and they confirmed that all of the GS1250 'kits' should include the sleeve. I got a sleeve and ties sent to me and fitted it myself.
