Denali Split Soundbomb

[Reckless]

Bought one of these - anyone fitted one? Looking for a good mounting point for the compressor element without having to pay £22 for a Cymarc engine bar mounting bracket - an excellent piece of kit but almost as expensive as the horn!

Intend to mount the lighter horn part from the original horn mount.

Any ideas appreciated.

I like the look of those, they do a new split version where you can mount the compressor separately, please post a review and pictures when you get it fitted

I mounted the horn part in the same location as the original with a custom bracket, which i fabricated myself.

The compressor is hidden on the left side of the bike behind the "air inlet" side panel. I strapped it to the frame with cable ties. Had to removed the plastic cover from the pump to make it as compact as possible.

Will paste pictures when i get home on the weekend.

I've got one on my Super Tenere...if it was any louder you'd think a train was coming

I'd have thought anywhere for the compressor that's tucked out of the way...and use the two thick cable ties to mount the actual horn to somewhere solid..it's not at all heavy.I couldn't mount mine in place of the original horn as it was a fair bit bigger and fork dive had to be considered

The pictures were taken during installation with the covers / trim removed. All is hidden when the covers are in place. I used four sturdy cable ties to secure the compressor.

Marius - just to be sure, is your bike a GSA? I stripped my bike this weekend to try and fit the compressor like you had but struggled to find a location - although I did try on the right side in order to keep things closer together - probably should have stripped both sides? Grateful for confirmation.

Did mine last week on a GSA LC. I fitted the horn in the same place as the stock horn with a fabricated bracket. The compressor I fitted right between the forks, zip-tied underneath the swan neck bracket "thingy"(see photo). If you look up right between the front forks you'll see what I mean. Works a treat. I wired mine from a PDM 60 and I also bought this http://www.nippynormans.com/product...r-bmw-bikes-with-can-bus-wiring-stb-canbuskit so that I can easily refit the stock horn if I sell the bike.
The photo shows a "non split" air horn similar to a denali sounbomb although the forks would catch in my opinion, but with just the compressor there is clearance.
