Denmark - motorcycle rides

Has anyone ridden up the west coast of Denmark?
I'm heading from Esbjerg up to Hirtshals for the ferry to Norway and trying to work out a route.
There is a road on the extreme west of Denmark (pretty much in the sea in places :) ) with a ferry or two - it looks like fun but wondered if anyone has ridden it?

Done it a couple of times - the main road through the centre is as boring as feck!
There are several beach roads which are great and fun to ride but bottled out when looked at the map in the far north/west combined with ferry schedule at hirtshals.

The coast road is a little more interesting than the motorway, but nothing to write home about. Its mostly flat and feature-less, a bit like Holland.

Denmark is a relatively dull pathway to a ferry port and onwards to the spectacular scenery of Norway.

It's 640 miles from Rotterdam to Hirtshals according to Google maps and SWMBO hates motorways.

So it looks like a case of picking some A-roads through Germany/Denmark and overnighting somewhere - maybe Hamburg or some nice old town outbound and Bremerhaven on the way back to see the type XXI U-boat :nenau

I was considering the type VII at Laboe too, but wasn't sure if it was a bit too Far East out of the way. I've been on U505 at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, so wanted to board the other two to complete the set (the one on Merseyside doesn't really count anymore now it's been cut into sections  )

The U-Boat at Laboe is definately worth a visit.

And, if you have the time, then a trip to Peenemünde is well worth it: as well as seeing the original V-1 and V-2 testing site and factory, in the nearby harbour they have a Soviet era nuclear missile submarine.
- it's an eye-opener as the technology inside is very similar to the German u-boat!!!!
