Being looking at possible x country routes from Collyweston to Dent, I did something similar on a trip to Scotland last Oct.

It's interesting but it would take 4 hours or so

A quicker alternative could be, belt up the A1 to the A59 then across to Ripley, Pateley Bridge then across the Dales to Dent

Just had confirmation from work that i've got Thursday night off, which means i'll be heading up Thursday morning after my night shift.
If anyone from the West Country's also heading up and wants to ride with some company, let me know. I'm thinking A49 to Warrington, skip past Manchester and some nice roads in to Dent from there. Route's not set in stone, so open to suggestion.
