Dent Weekend 31st May - 2nd June, 2024

I take it from the questions above that there will be a printed itinerary with options for different groups for the ride out.
Dinner times.
A list of the guest speakers and where and when they are performing.
Demo bikes.
A list of retailers. etc etc.

Or is it just going to be an unofficial unorganised debacle of a weekend where no one actually gives a fcuk whether you go on the ride out….or indeed, actually enjoy yourself.

Mr Brut - on arrival at Dent, where's the hub for Tosserism? Do people generally gather at the campsite, or a pub, or is it weather depen-Dent?

I'd hate to be on my own in the pub, for instance, missing the AC/DC gig at the campsite :)

Cheers,

Paul G

When you ride into the campsite you'll see tents or a tent with adjacent motorcycle of some description
parked next to it. As an example, when I arrived last year I saw this....

After I realised I hadn't stumbled upon a murder scene, I pitch up nearby and waited for his reassuring snore to
cease.
Then wander out of the camp gates and turn left. Walk for about 300 yds and you'll come across the Sun Inn.
You should see a few bods or a bod sat in the beer garden which opens at 2pm on Friday.
Because of anticipated numbers I've spoken with Michael Eavis for advice re crowd control so you shouldn't
get lost in the crowds.:D

Oh, don't forget to check in at the little cafe across from the main gate or Margaret will set the camp leopard on you.
Good luck.:beerjug:

This ^^^^^^. :beerjug:
Hey Stu, what place and time do you want folk to assemble for your ride to the Tan Hill Inn?

That'll be sometime on Saturday morning, but not too early. I hope you're leading because I haven't a feckin clue
where it is. What do you think I am, the organiser?:D

It was your idea to go to Tan Hill Inn. I was going to be sweeper at the back. Having said that I may be too hung over to go anywhere by motor vehicle.

I'm currently experimenting with a smartphone mount on my bike using the Waze app so all is well.
I think.:D

Thanks for that. I have printed out the picture and shall use it as a reference so I can be sure to link up with bikermates. 👍

The Sun, then....

any plans for a big bbq or braai are set up? Anyone travelling in a wagon fancy bringing a half barrel or similar? Be good to have a cook up on our own in the outdoors. I'll cook if anyone's keen?

I think you might be pushing your luck there, a primus stove and a pot noodle is as good as it will get.

I think you're confusing the Dent Debacle with the ABR or Touratech gigs. The nearest we'll get to 'Itchy Boots' giving a talk about their epic rides is Stu drunkenly rambling on about a trip to Knott End chippy whilst scratching his itchy balls:D

He's not joking, you know!

Not sure if I can make it, Stu. :( I've a busy week next week and then off to Berlin to see Scotland humiliate Germany on the 6th. :augie

Fingers crossed, I'm not too knackered ...

I was initially putting the date up for this year's Dent on the last weekend in June, but was asked
if I could move it by the ABR because clashed with their date.
