Has anyone used the Devon Rim Company to true up a front wheel on a 1200 GSA, after less than 7000 miles of on road use only mine has gone out of true .

There is approx 1.5 mm of sideways (lateral movement) and at least 2.5mm of ovality (up and down) movement as measured with a gauge on a wheel balancing machine and it is causing a bad patter on the front end and instability.

The bike has never been offroaded and never hit any deep pot holes and the rim itself is totally unmarked , the ovality seems to be getting worse and has only came on in the last 2000 miles.

Devon Rim Company seem to be the only ones doing repairs and say they can re true a wheel for £50 plus VAT .

So any one had any dealings with them ? and how come my 1150 which had 35,000 miles on and was actually off roaded on occasion never had any problems ?

I have used them earlier in the year, not GS related but Meridan Triumph full re-build and I would certainly use them again. AJ

Hi
Seem to remember a thread from Bilko about this company.

I am sure it was Bilko ? But being old I may be mistaken:confused:
