Following a puncture last week (many thanks to the tyre pressure system, it works!) I had a replacement Tourance EXP fitted. Ever since then, I've noticed what seems to be a 'vague' feeling from the back of the bike when going on right hand bends. For a split second it feels as if the bike is about to collapse at the back and then it is OK.

Just wondering whether new EXPs take a bit longer than the usual 100 odd miles to bed in (mind you I've done around 200 miles now) or if it is the sign of something more sinister. Or is it all just in my head?!

It could be play in the swingarm taper roller bearings, I had that with my 2004 bike. Put the bike on the centrestand so the rear wheel is in the air, then try to move the swigarm sideways and look at the gap between the swingarm casting and the frame where the swingarm bearings are. Any relative movement between the two will need adjusting, or else new bearings fitting.

Also look beneath the gearbox on the right hand side and check that the long bolt that should bolt the rear subframe through a bracket to the gearbox hasn't come loose or fallen out, it fell out on my last bike which gave vague handling.

Lastly, check the rear wheel for play in the final drive bearings by gripping at 12 o clock and 6 o clock position and trying to feel for any play.
