Hiking / Walking thread needed?

As someone who does a fair bit of hiking it occurred to me that we don't have a dedicated Hiking/Walking thread on our corner of the internet here on UKGSer.

I know it would be popular, as lots of people on here go camping and lots of navigation chat etc and many of certain age who like to walk for something to do or keep fit

Similar to my bike riding i plan trips on apps/website and load a backpack and off i go!

Any other hikers on here?

Would be nice.
I sometimes enjoy the occasional walk or hike.

It would be a good way to discover new places/routes "vetted" by other forum members.

I have now tidied-up this opening thread, moving lots of separate posts and topics into threads of their own.

As people will now have the hang of it and, not least, now be aware of the great suggestion to create a sub-section dedicated to walking and hiking, I’ll close this thread, before another round of tidying-up become necessary.
