It snows here too....occasionally!

Having a wander around I noticed the garden wasn't its usual shade of green:eek

but this was a Sunday and therefore a ride was to be had:thumb2. Zeki and Rejeb arrived dressed in an assortment of foul/wet weather gear:eek:

The clouds were low, the temperature on the chilly side but hey, we're daft enough to go and have a look see in the hills:augie

On the way up we passed a victim of the current hunting season. Wild boar are plentiful around here and are culled at this time of the year. The damage they can do to crops, and individuals, is not to be under estimated especially for subsistence farmers. They are, however, spectacular beasts:bow

CIMG4106.jpg

Onwards and upwards we went until we ski'ed to a halt:eek:

CIMG4108.jpg

There was little point in going on

CIMG4110.jpg

but of course we had to discuss the options:blagblah

CIMG4109.jpg

Mehmet decided to blaze a trail:clap

CIMG4114.jpg

CIMG4115.jpg

but spent a lot of time just malingering:mmmm

CIMG4116.jpg

There was only one thing to do, get out of the snowline. We came across a long abandoned goatherders camp and lit a fire

CIMG4123.jpg

on which we barbecued some sausage and our socks:nenau remembering that there is never not enough time to eat and talk biking bollox:cool:

Cappadocia

Me and the Mrs eventually moved into our gaffe here in Turkey, after living in a van on the land for three months during winter, and were ready for a ride to relieve the stresses of the previous six months. Jasper, however, was none too pleased:comfort The cat about to fall off the chair couldn't care less!

The 1150 GS had to go in Blighty. Better throw a couple of Oxford soft panniers over our 400cc Honda then:thumb and take Cluj the Dalmatian puppy along for a ride:augie

Cluj was bought in Cluj Napoca, Romania on a ride from Blighty. He's become fairly well travelled since:bounce1

A day and a half later and we were in Cappadocia where the landscape changed abruptly from the normal to otherworldly

We were impressed by the landscape. Cluj, however, just wanted to be back with Jasper

......................

.....................on the way back from Cappadocia we were looking for a place to overnight. We went for miles and miles fearing a dead end when we stumbled into a rather nondescript village. We saw a sign indicating a hotel. By now it was pitch black and we had no real idea where we were. A hot meal, a quick shower and time for bed. In the morning we woke up to this view from our bedroom window:JB

Turns out the place was huge and it cost us the princeley sum of 50 quid for two for B&B and Dinner:thumb

Cluj had had a good nights sleep and was well rested for the trip back through stunning backroads:)

2000 miles, two up, in six days on a 400cc bike. A couple of years ago I wouldn't have given the thought house room. Mind you, the Mrs now packs to the minimum. The kitchen sink. fridge and dishwasher remain at home:pullface

Cheers,

Dicky
