First time I've ever mis-fuelled, in any vehicle I've ever owned, and I do it in the highlands, full tank of diesel in the 800. Sitting waiting for recovery, how bad is it going to be? I ran it, rode away from the servo and lost all drive a mile or so down the road, so the fuel is right through the bike.

Fuck it!!!

I didn't think diesel fuel nozzles could fit in the tank because there bigger?

I would imagine draining the tank and purging the system would be sufficient as long as nothing has been damaged

Diesel is a heavy oil, So long as you haven't rode for too long, just empty the tank and get as much out, put good petrol in, it will smoke like winston churchhill
for a while, just take it easy..

Done it myself lost drive no ensuing damage emptying the tank is a pain in the a***e as above a bit of smoke

Friend of mine had his KTM 690 Enduro filled by an attendant with diesel, whilst in the depths of Morocco. Drove off, bike stopped, drained tank and filled up with unleaded. After a bit of coughing and lots of smoke, ran ok for the 2000 mile journey home...... thank goodness!!

On the downside, the fuel pump did fail about 1000 miles later - but this was not put down to the diesel for certain.....

No fuel pump issues with mine in the next 20,000 miles

A punter I was on tour with in Morocco last month filled his 1200GSA up with diesel. Pumped it out , put in a bit of petrol shook it about ! pumped it out and refilled with petrol. Started , coughed and spluttered and stopped , started again and after a few smokey hiccups ran fine for the rest of the trip !!:clap

Feckin green handles on diesel pumps out there - easily done.
