Anyone any idea where I may possibly get hold of a DIN plug extension lead which I can plug my BMW charger into? I find with the cover over my 2019 R1250GS that the BMW charger lead is just not long enough (when plugged into the DIN plug on the dash) and pulls the bike cover up, unless I have the charger under the cover, virtually on the floor (which is not ideal).

I have looked at fitting the kit from Nippy Normans and moving the DIN plug down by the battery, but unfortunately that's not an option for me as I've fitted the Wunderlich side panels - which use the same space that the NN bracket utilises - and I'd prefer to keep the side panels

I've looked around various sites and can't seem to locate a DIN extension lead that has a DIN plug one end and a DIN socket the other. TIA

Thanks Santa, indeed I saw that but being a lazy bugger, I thought if I can buy one pre-made rather than DIY.......LOL

Probably a silly question.
In lack of the cable you are searching, would an extension lead to the power cable to the charger be an option?
This would make it possible to place the charger on the seat and still be able to keep the cover all the way down.

You need a Hela male plug to Hela female socket extension lead, sometimes called an ‘extension cord’. You can find them via a Google search. They are though very easy to make yourself.

PS The challenge is not unique to owners of 1200/1250 motorcycles. Try branching out into other sections of the forum.

PS Loving the suggestion of extending the mains power lead.

Thanks Wapping - its knowing what to search on, as you say a few available when you use the right "words"!

As I said earlier, not against making one myself - and actually the idea of extending the mains power lead is something I hadn't considered but is actually not a bad option either!

Thanks all for your help, much appreciated

That’s exactly what I do. The bike lives outside all the time, just run an extension lead to the bike and put the charger on the seat. It’s easy to lift the covers to see how everything is from time to time.
