In the process of giving the bike a thorough going over, I've noticed that there's a small ding in the fork brace where the fork leg has come round and clattered it (as a result of my little off last year).

I can't see or feel any damage to the fork leg, so how likely is it that I've bent the fork?

Next question: Is it possible to check if the fork leg is straight without removing it?

… that said, there can't be too much wrong with the suspension, as the bike's done 4,500 miles since my little tumble, so I suppose I'm just looking for a little reassurance.

Have you broken the stop off the top yolk by any chance,or have I got the wrong end of the stick! I have managed to bend three sets of forks on mine(purley in the line of research you understand:rolleyes: ) but the stantions are quite easy to straighten again. If you have done 4500miles since, and it feels right and the seals aren't leaking,I wouldn't bother my head about it! The more you look, the more you will find wrong with it.Just ride it,and when you end up in the hedge, you come and tell me,and I will reconsider my opinion:beerjug:

Cheers Vern,

I did check for damage around the steering lock stops, but couldn't see any there either.

I think the only reason why the forks have managed to twist round far enough to make contact with the fork brace is because the forks have twisted in the fork bridge.

However, …

If Vern says "she'll be right", then that's good enough for me … and if I do end up through a hedge, I'll give you a call.

The weather is particularly pleasant in Auckland at this time of year :D
