Hi,

My dip beam has packed up - changed the bulb, still not working. I notice there is no fuse listed for the headlight or a relay in the mannual. Any one have any idea where to start looking for a wiring fault? Main beam and all other lights working Ok.

Thanks for your time.

I'd find it odd if the lights were not fused.

Have you checked all your fuses just to make sure one's not gone anyway?

Not got a 1100 but I have heard people say that the switches can break for the lights.

Hi sockpuppet,

I also find it strange that there is no fuse listed for the headlight, Haynes mannual says to check the load relief relay - but surely that would effect the highbeam as well? I will check all the fuses with a meter later along with the switch contacts. Just wondered if there was a connector plug lurking under the tank somewhere that gets corroded - had the same problem with my airhead.

Many thanks

There is a big bunch of connectors under the tank, you could pull them apart and have a peek at the contacts, I would also pull all of the fuses and look at them, just the act of pulling them out and replacing them will give the contacts a scrape, same with the relays.

It's usually the switch. Thumb it through it's on/off sequence for a couple of minitues and spray with some WD40 etc.

Thanks guys - cleaned all the switch contacts and checked the all the fuses and it is now working:thumb2
