Hi,

My bike is a year 2000 1150GS.

The dipped beam (the whole unit) keeps popping out backwards, bouncing around and annoying the nice car drivers. I have had a look around but cannot easily idetify what is loose.

Is there any easy fix for this or is a repalcement job for the whole light housing?

Thanks

Sounds like it might be the plastic ball-joint that attaches to the bottom left of the dipped beam unit (as you're sitting on the bike) I think it's probably connected to the lever for setting beam height when bike's loaded. If you remove the front headlight surround you'll be able to see then if the ball-joint has come out. If so it's just a matter of pressing it back in being careful obviously as it's plastic.
Hope that helps

To remove the light unit

1. Remove screen
2. Remove silver fairing (2 screws )
3. Remove black fairing from front of lights. (3 screws & washers )
4. Unplug high and low beam connectors
5. Locate the side light bulb in high beam and remove. It's rubber so just pulls out.
6. Locate the two cap head screws (original black M6) located either side of the frame. White Rubber mountings. Remove the cap head screws.
7. Locate the vertical adjuster bottom left side of the mounting, under the low beam light. Use a flat blade screwdriver between the ball and cup and prise the cup off.

The whole assembly holding the low and High beam lights can now be withdrawn from the front.

Once out you should be able to work out what's wrong, broken or missing.
