Dipped or Main Beam But Not Both...

...at the same time???

Picked up my new GSA today and rode to work on it tonight. it was then that I noticed that when you switch to main beam the dipped goes out!

Is this meant to happen and if, Yes, can the bike be tweeked for the the dipped to stay on with the main?

And... if it is possible to do so, would there be any detrimental effects to the electrics?

Mine does the same bit like you can't have the side running lights or fogs which ever with the day light beam on, lights are bloody great tho I've just rode mine home and done a few trips at night, had it a week today and all good 600 miles in

Evening! Just got home and can answer as to what my "skinny" none adventure GS WC does (this has the LED light) - dipped is always on at night. Flick the main beam and that comes on in addition to the dipped beam.

Yes I do, as well as a pair of auxillary lights too - I'm wondering if I turn those off whether the Dipped will stay on at the same time as the main. When I get the chance abit later, I'll go and check.

My GSA has led sidelights on all the time. Plus drl, headlight and main beam stay on

Unbelievable light output at night. I'm sure there are settings in bike computer about this.

i run with the DRL on + the led spots in daytime, can't remember how to set it up but they are definitely both on.

If it's an H4 bulb then this is how they operate. Main or dipped, not both.
