Disappearing password cookies??????

For some reason, my win98 PC has an occaissional habit of losing ALL my logon passwords for no apparent reason, and it's happened again this morning.

Nothing untoward has happened with my machine this morning, and I've just started it as normal. Trouble is, as soon as I start IE my log on password box for the ISP is blank, I need a password to log onto UKgser, and my internet banking, and it has also 'lost' all my passwords for my email accounts!!! It's bloody infuriating, and I can't work out what has happened or why.

Where are passwords kept? and anyone got any ideas why win98 should suddenly decide to dump them all?

Your computer may have a virus.. I had something similar happen a while ago, ended up re-loading Windows (easy to do if you have the CD).

Will....I've forgotten everything I knew about w98 I'm afraid....as I suspect most people here have judging by the responses......

Are you on '98 by choice or by equipment limitations??

Most W98 machines can run xp...it wasn't that much of a hyke in requirements...and it really is much, MUCH better
