Disc Locks - Oxford Monster?

Can anyone please recommend a disc lock for my 2009 GSA, preferably Thatcham approved?

I am also considering other security devices but as far as disc locks go, is the Oxford Monster any good?. Will it fit and and are there better models for my money?

I had a Abus disc lock that cost £120 on my last bike plus a chain through back wheel it, ***** cut chain and hi ab bike into a grab lorry. So no matter what you use if they want it they will have!!!!!!! O remember if bike is nicked you will need to have all keys and proof you locked it up!! As I was grilled for 3 hours on how I locked my bike up on the day it was nicked, lucky there was CCTV that got all apart from number plate of the lorry.

My insurance requires me to use a Thatcham disc lock, so I need to get one soon.

Hi Huggy, yes to the Oxford Monster, i use one on my GS, it stores under the seat. Orginally bought for my Fireblade as space was even more limited under it's Seat. I have black tape wrapped around the metal u, so as not to chip the the paint when putting on or off the Disc, it needs to kept oiled reguarly to stop the key binding tho !

Good bit of kit and a bit more of a visual deterrent compared to a disc lock.

Is that used for locking your bike to another object such as lamp post etc?

a disk lock with an integral alarm will provide an extra deterrent and will reduce the risk of riding off with it still fitted.
