Okay no problem clean it out coat it in WD40 one to watch in future.
Right, unit fitted under tool bag wires routed years of being a Auto electrician finally paid of, right find a feed, ah handy little accessorie socket, remove plug from rear of socket sh**e again live feed wire corroded okay bite my tonge scrape out the blue gundge use the trusty WD40 another one to watch.

There's more' strip back both wires in order to solder autocom connections, positive wire okay nice copper colour , earth wire black ( been corroded for some time).

Has anyone else experienced these problems????????

By the way my bike has only 500 miles on the clock. :spitfire

Yes its a 1200

I gather it's a 1200 and there's a recall for the cover of the fuel pump...go see your friendly dealer and ask him to sort it and it's disconcerting :D

Oi!

Don't be bringing your plastic fantastic into these hallowed halls. It's disturbing the members :nono . It's taken 25 years to come to terms with electronic ignitions...and thats after much muttering and discussion and the shaking of heads. As for fuel pumps. Whats wrong with gravity?? Next you will be talking about speeds above 80Mph...Outrageous! everybody knows you can't breath at speeds greater than that.

Correction - feck off - the 1200's are taking over... :dabone

The corroded wiring to the auxiliary power socket is a well-known problem on the 1200, slap a load of silicon grease on it and wrap it in self amalgamating tape. Better buy a nice carbon-fibre rear hugger whilst you are at it. ;)

"The corroded wiring to the auxiliary power socket is a well-known problem on the 1200"

Along with the dodgy final drives and the faulty fuel pumps and the faulty digital display and the faulty...

:D
