Does anyone know what drives the 'Fuel Low light'? And what could cause it to malfunction? Mine came on after only 128 miles riding from a filled tank and with 5 or 6 bars still showing on the fuel gauge yesterday. I then filled the tank just to prevent running out of fuel with only about 15 litres so the gauge and mileage were more believable than the idiot light.

I had ridden 700 miles in the National Rally when this happened but the idiot light had not miss-behaved until that point.

I will be draining the tank up in a few weeks when my S4 siphon arrives so opening it to look at any in-tank senders is not a problem.

Any thoughts?

TIA

Richard

Try cleaning the contacts on the block connector on the off side of the tank.

Taking the pump/fuel filter plate off can sometimes cause problems, but since you haven't mentioned that,i would go along with dirty/corroded pins in the 4-way tank connector as mentioned.

Thanks to both.

A bit of contact scrapping was to be my first point of call - after draining an almost full tank :blast

Cheers
