Looking at the new Triumph Explorer fog lamps, they are £259.99 as an accessory. Do I need to pay that or can you get better and cheaper aftermarket ones?

Also, can you use fog lights when it's not foggy?

Triumph

Bike must have genuine Triumph parts fitted or your computer will blow up and your left leg will drop off, better still fit two sets of lights in case one stops working:augie

No you cant use fog lights when its not foggy.
Try it - see, nothing happened, they wont work.

.....shouldn't this be in the 1200 section.

Yes, you can buy other fog sets for less money. Are they better than the Triumphs? Who knows as no one has the Triumph's yet.

No, you can't use fogs unless its foggy.

Why the cynisism (or however you spell it)? I don't get the joke....

Do I need 'driving lights' or something rather than 'fog lights'?

If you are buying one of the limited edition launch models then they already come with fog lights included :blast

You thought of trying one of the Triumph forums where they may have some knowledge of the lights fitted to other Triumphs like the 800 etc :augie

I think that you are referring to car legislation and the low mounted fog lamps they use.

Bikes generally don't have lights fitted at a level that would qualify as fog lamps.

The OP should buy a set of these http://www.clearwaterlights.com/infopg_krista.html

Two of them look like this at night:-
