Do i need to use an autocom with a zumo 660

Having finally discovered the pleasure of using a zumo 660 on a gsa, realise that being able to hear the instructions might be useful too

this is all new to me so please help if you can, dont really understand what an autocom is for,

what benefits would an autocom give me in conjuction with the zumo, wouldnt bluetooth headphones work ok on their own with the zumo

have no desire to speak to a passenger (certainly not the wife at least) small possibilty with a fellow rider

fancy a radio at some point if this makes a difference

pls help the dazed and confused, regards all

If your 'bluetooth headphones' will pair with the Zumo, yes.
I presume you don't have the headphones at the moment.
Radio? I dunno.
I use Interphone F3's. iPhone can do internet radio into the Zumo, then it feeds that into the F3. Zumo sends directions to F3 etc. Also you can load music onto a micro SD card into the Zumo.

Other folks swear by Scala rider etc.
Dunno what headphones you're thinking of so can't be specific on those. Should be easy enough to take your Zumo to whatever shop and try pairing them up.

I'm assuming here that the 660 has an trailing audio out socket on the power lead like my StreetPilot and Quest. If it does then you can plug in a headset there. I made up a decent headset for that latter, which I also used on my SP2720 before i got an Autocom, from parts purchased from Maplin for around £15. Alternatively there are helmet headphones on eBay.

Obviously the above are hard-wired, you'd need to plug-in/un-plug.
