i've changed tyres on mx and offroad bikes before. (plenty of swearing etc.)
how difficult is it to change the tyres on tubeless rims, like the ADV?

Not that hard, breaking the bead is the hardest part on a tubeless tyre. Various ways of doing, I personally built myself a wall mounted bead breaker to avoid potential rim damage.

A compressor with a large tank is also useful, gives you a good chance of seating the bead on the rim quickly & in one go.

Only problem with getting proficient at changing tyres is that you end up doing all your friends tyres:eek:

I use a big vice and some wood blocks to break the bead. Then pop it onto the bead at my local car tyre place.

If taking it to a tyre place, why not get them to do the whole job

If you can break the bead yourself, buy levers & tyre lube & do the rest yourself.

I huff and I puff but....

The only bit of the job I usually cannot do is getting the beads seated as a large volume as well as pressure is required. I obviously did not craft my reply c a r e f u l l y enough . ;)
