On a trip and my bottle and glass is seriously giving me aggro.

I have most definitely worn out my Sargeant seat.

You know its bad when ten miles in and its already nagging you.

Anyone got any ideas for on a trip improvised seat padding that you might pick up somewhere on the road? Currently rolling up a top and attached it to the seat with some straps, but just wondered if there was any inspired thinking out there.

Miles to go, grapes are-a-beeping :P

cycling shorts ??

It's a 15 - 20 quid fix if yer on the road .... smart phone google cycle shops where ever you are ... :D

Find a local tip (or household recycling centre) and see if they have any old cushions you could have.

Or try a charity shop.

Or a carpet fitters and get some underlay (avoid carpet right, they're bloody axpensive). 1 linear metre of top quality underlay ie Cloud 9, folded up should be lovely and comfy. When you get home, you can cut it up and use it as thermal insoles in your wellies...

some horsey types swear by sheepskin offcuts taken from coats or rugs or from your local friendly farmer/poacher, not pretty and I guess awful when wet but supposed to be very plush

I saw one a while ago on a bike, mind it was a Harley so maybe done more for effect?!

A large bag of dried lentils should help, providing the bag doesn't split. :thumb You could stuff them into a helmet bag I suppose. :D If it doesn't work you can make a Tarka Dhal with them.

Medical suppliers.....they do all sorts of gel pads and things that look like airhawk pads but at a fraction of the cost.

They also do memory foam type stuff and all sorts.......it'll all be top quality medical standard stuff so fit for use :thumb

You can also get large gel pads that you can cut to shape from pretty much any equestrian place....the horsey types use them in and under saddles I guess :nenau

Here we go....just a quick googly while I eat.....

Harley Economy V Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion

The Harley Economy V Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion provides pressure relief at unrivalled value for money

The Harley Economy V Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion has a base of high resilient polyurethane foam and a upper layer of visco elastic memory foam. The polyurethane foam base layer provides stability and support, while the bonded upper layer of visco elastic memory foam provides comfort and pressure relief.

The memory foam construction of this memory foam cushion conforms to the user's body shape providing continuous and even pressure distribution. This pressure relief cushion will help with the reduction and prevention of pressure sores and ulcers. The memory foam element of this cushion ensures that the user's muscles are relaxed and tension is relieved.

Visco elastic memory foam was first developed by NASA for space missions. The Harley Economy V Memory Foam Cushion's memory foam takes the heat and weight from the user and shapes itself to the body's requirements. It returns to its original shape when the heat and weight are removed.

The Harley Economy V Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion is supplied complete with a Harley Dartex Cover (shown in the alternative image) as standard. This cover has the following features:
