Just sent my Bits and bobs off to be painted ,, Black..
Dunno how it will turn out , But i am hedging my bets , i am painting
Two tanks , and making the Bikini Firing a quickish detach item ,,
Got the Engine detailing almost finnished , Absolute Hoor of a job , had to wait until "" The Garage "" { A F***ing fortnight !! }were using Alloy Etch Primer . It can only be bought in Liter measures , and i didnt want the Hassle of mixing and cleaning .

Aye , Looks Grand . But i dont like the way the seat doesnt go over the rear wheel , Sorta Suzi TLR style , I prefer a longer seat base..

Whats your thoughts on the Acewell/VApour , Johns link shaved 50% off the Price for a Same/similar item for sale in UK ,,

I don't know anything about them. Flip had one on his bike, they seem a little plasticky though. I was thinking of this one for my next project

Not so sure now though.

I really like the 'black wheels/black tyres' look and that coupled with everything else being black other than the bodywork /engine works really well. Emphasises that strip down 'engine and two wheels' look.
The more I keep looking at it the more I like it - a lot!

How do you get the casting to come up looking so new..... do you have some form of dry ice blaster or even a shot blaster?

Phosphoric acid wash on the crankcases and vapor blast on the heads and barrels before ultrasonicslly cleaning. Satin powder coat on the black bits and nitromors with a fine paintbrush on the detail to lift the powder before polishing. Takes hours and hours to do. You then put the engine in a bike and take it off road :blast
