Do the plastic head guards protect the secondary plugs

Will it harm the secondary spark plugs if I leave the plastic head guards off the bike? Do they maybe give them a bit of weather protection? The bike has Hepco & Becker bars for protection, so I feel these aren't needed. Plus, it's something less to remove when doing the valve clearances.

Any opinions anyone? Looks better without.

Mines a single spark but I removed the plastic bits when I put on the HB bars. Tis handier for valve checking. I have to loosen the rhs bars to get the rocker over off. Don't need to touch anything on the LHS
