There does seem to be one common denominator here. JJH

An ex employee's comments should always be taken with a pinch of salt.......I know two people who have had dealings with 4th Dimension
The first was happy as he got a courtesy bike whilst his Daytona 955i was being repaired
The second was very unhappy and said they are "a bunch of C U N T S" and he should know. He worked for them for two years![]()
I suppose we could always hope that the 2.1 Trustpilot rating was from disgruntled ex employees rather than disgruntled customersAn ex employee's comments should always be taken with a pinch of salt.......

I'm sure some people are naive enough to trust TrustPilotI suppose we could always hope that the 2.1 Trustpilot rating was from disgruntled ex employees rather than disgruntled customers![]()
Ah yes but Engineer had a good experience with 4th Dimension so everyone else who has had a poor experience must be wrong/delusional/lying etcThe the two I know were consistently lied to by 4th Dimension regarding parts availability , repair times , basically every time they spoke to 4th Dimension over the 3 months plus repairs took they were lied to .
One had a fairly new FJR1300 that was rear ended at sub 5mph in a car park and not dropped , bike fully rideable and local Yamaha dealer had a look and said it needed a new number plate and rear light lens and a rear mudguard . All parts available in the UK and the repair was estimated at a maximum of 2 to 3 hours and under £750. Insurer insisted on 4th Dimension and the bike was off the road for in excess of 12 weeks as parts were apparently not available anywhere in this solar system , the bike could not be examined , it went on and on and the final repair bill was in excess I believe £4500 by the time 4th Dimension replaced the previously undamaged silencer and other parts that the Yamaha dealer missed ????? Poor sod then got hit with a £8000 plus bill for a hire bike (first one was sent back as it was not roadworthy). That ended up going to court as third party insurer refused to pay saying the hire, storage and repair costs bore no resemblance to the actual damage.
Second one as a V strom 650 that had the rear pannier clipped by a bus, again a battery of lies , veiled threats that if 4th Dimension was not used it could by up to 12 weeks before an assessor could look at the bike as it was left in Newcastle . Repairs took over 12 weeks and the lies about parts non availability were shocking . Every part was available in the UK on dealers shelves yet 4th Dimension claimed they had to come from Japan . Used parts were used for the pannier frames and rack and they were badly powder coated in the wrong colours , threads were full of blasting grit and the fixings later needed to be drilled out and replaced , paint matches were wrong as were the stickers on the rear panels (mismatched side to side ,as was the paint on the panniers ), the luggage on the bike went away with matched locks and keys and came back with 3 mismatched used locks and keys (only one per lock). It was delivered back days before a holiday so could not be easily rejected (I spent a fully day checking it out and sorting out safety issues - which included a misaligned and loose rear wheel ). I know the lad who was the chief repair mechanic at the local Suzuki dealer who reckoned the damage could have been sorted and repaired correctly in one working week for less than £2000. Final bill to the offending dealers insurance was over £5000 with storage and transportation fees ,excess oxygen and pixie taxes etc.
I also know another which I will not go into details that involved a slow walking pace nudge between two almost new R1250GSA's which both had minimal damage yet took 3 months to sort out and the final claim was I believe over £15,000.
I am wary in many cases of Trustpilot reviews BUT in the case when you look at the reviews they mirror all the issues I know happened in the above cases and then when you read on any marque forums seven in 10 of all discussions re 4th dimension all mirror the sh*te reviews they receive on Trustpilot

I didn't say that - I just reported that my experience was very good and that it is always the ones with bad experiences that shout the loudest.Ah yes but Engineer had a good experience with 4th Dimension so everyone else who has had a poor experience must be wrong/delusional/lying etc![]()
Paint sprayer up the road said , its normal for the insurance company to increase ( double) your excess if you select a repairer that isnt theirs.Look at the t&cs on your policy. I'm with Aviva online and as part of accepting the quote I had to agree to let them repair my car should it be involved in an accident. If there's no such clause then you can use who you want to, it's your vehicle. The insurer may get a bit upperty with you saying if there's any subsequent problems they won't sort it out though.
Another option if it's the other parties fault and you have proof is to go via the manufactures accident management team. That way you don't use your insurer at all and they deal direct with the 3rd parties insurer and you get your vehicle repaired to the manufacturers standards, not what the insurer deems as "acceptable"Paint sprayer up the road said , its normal for the insurance company to increase ( double) your excess if you select a repairer that isnt theirs.
If going independent apparently you need a code from your insurers.
I didn't use 4th dimension's repairers and they didn't increase my excess - so I guess it all depends on your insurer?Paint sprayer up the road said , its normal for the insurance company to increase ( double) your excess if you select a repairer that isnt theirs.

I even changed repairers half way through because the first was incompetent, they just sent out an 'engineer' to inspect the bike before the change over to be sure that my accusation of Arden's incompetnece was true - it took the engineer about 30 seconds to agree with me that Arden had royally fcuked up and the repairer (Sycamore/Balderston) should take over.
Keeping to topic - my experience of Hastings Direct and 4th Dimension was very good - it must be down to the natural charm with which I'm gifted.
P.S perhaps those on here that have had bad experiences with 4th Dimension are the real bellends?
P.P.S some people jump in with severe predjudices when it comes to insurance claims - if they stayed calm and polite they might get a much better response?
P.P.P.S because of my claim I expected my insurance with Hastings to go through the roof, it didn't, bearing in mind that the said incident was my error.
They did all the claim admin on my behalf and the 3rd party and did it very well - always get the work done by an authorised dealer. Don't take out an insurance policy that ties you to the claims company's specified repair centre - I'm not sure they can do this anyway. So your good experience wasn’t with 4th dimension doing any of the work and yet you criticised those of us who used 4th dimension and said they were rubbish!
I said 'perhaps' this was the case, not that it was - it is all very on sided in the insurance threads on here, i.e. 'they are all charlatans' that can't be trusted, but we rarely hear of the good stories. And before you argue your point I’ll refer you to your P.S. and P.P.S.
Apparently you have a prejudice where people who have a bad experience with insurance were unable to stay calm and brought the problems on themselves
