Bit of a long shot but if you have a cosmic blue 1250 GS TE 2019 bought from Sycamore Motoradd Peterborough, (formerly Balderstons) probably late 2022/early 2023 l have some service history etc for you.
The bike was sold with its private plate and all the paperwork relates to that number, so unfortunately I don’t have the current number. I do however have the VIN number, which ends in 850. If you own this bike contact me and I’ll forward it on.

Yes, you're right.
There was a time I'd have trusted the Peterborough dealer to forward it on,less so now they're part of a corporate set up.
 
It is my understanding that any paperwork with the previous owners address on it will get removed. Data protection. that is what I was told by the dealer who took my previous GSA in part ex for my current one.

Not just address anything with the previous owners name will not (or should I say ) should not get passed on to the new owner due to data protection.

End of buying vehicles with huge amounts of service history , bills and relevant documentary history
 
That may be true for dealers but not between private individuals. Then it’s up to the seller to decide if he wants to forward the paperwork with the vehicle or not. If I sell a bike privately then I will have most likely spoken to the potential purchaser, most likely exchanged names, then he or she will come to my house to view, so they will already know my details.
Dealers could always cut the name and address out ( or blank it out with a permanent marker) of any forwarded paperwork too.
 
When I part exchanged a car last year it had 10 years worth of paperwork and main dealer invoices to support the stamped service book, but when sold the new owner just got the service book.
The dealer said they destroyed everything else due to GDPR regulations.
That's why DVLA stopped printing the previous keeper details on the V5 registration document.
 
Well, one can block the sensitive data if they really want.
Black marker over names, addresses and any identifiable data points, or make digital copies and edit out or blackout the relevant bits (better as you could still read through black marker over ink).
 
i always thought data protection was JUST for computers ?

service history has been given freely , and handed over.
nothing recorded into the computer ....so why is it subject to gdpr ?

i think gdpr , is for big companies collecting data , service history is not the target , people , just aren't sure and go overboard , thinking they are doing the right thing .
common sense has fallen by the wayside.

No, if you are a business it is the same, regardless of size.
Some "data protection" is overboard IMHO. Or people are overly cautious/zealous. You should be able to see all previous vehicle servicing/mot data. I honestly think you can.
Generally just identifiable personal data should be removed (addresses, name, etc.).
