So can over pressure. I start with tyre manufacturers recommendation and then adjust to suit my needs. Not rocket science and worth spending a little time to get it right.
Do you run the recommendation tyre pressures when riding solo?

Does anyone use the tyre pressure value given by the TPMS or your pressure gauge?

I use the gauge on my mini compressor airline, the TPMS gives the same reading so I guess they’re fairly accurate
Cheers leadfarmer, the last time I checked the TPMS reads 0.2 bar higher that the gauge I have been using for many a year. I have a new digital gauge, so going to run some checks with that.

I like the easy ride, 30 ish psi,in the dry you’ll hear the tyre complain if its letting go.
Off road drop to 20 psi and never damaged a rim yet.
Maybe you need to look where your going as I’m sure I’ve hit bigger holes than most of you chaps without fucking rims up.
Enduro riders on mouses are prob running the equivalent of 15 psi

Same here; a pump and 2 separate gauges ; the gauges confirm the pump is bang accurate; that's good enough for me.
What's the ware like at those presures mike and is that on the rd.

I run 4 PSI rear & 6 PSI front on my trials bikes.. - 0.5 in the wet.
Typically I'm low 30's or 30 even on both for road bikes & I have thought about what to do with the GSA tyre pressures as I agree totally they are far too hard in the factory setting.
Front 2.6 bar rear 3.00 bar Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE.
Running metzler Roadtec 01SE, on the RS, I find front end handling gets vague much below 36psi and even one or two psi under tends to accentuate wear ridges on the tread pattern due to braking forces causing one end of the tread blocks to become slightly ridged. The answer for me is to always run them now at no less than 36psi which restores the confidence in front end grip and feedback. Rear I run at the book recommended 42psi and wear seems pretty even after 5K miles on them. I'll likely be replacing fronts before the rears.
