... dodge the tourists stopping unannounced to take a selfie gauntlet.

Happened to me this week/ VERY rammed down-escalator, one of the long ones, people jammed in 2-abreast an elderly Japanese couple got off at the bottom took one step and stopped dead, consulting their guide book. MOOOOOOOVE!!!!!

Happens all the time at tube stations at the tourists destinations —- booosh, straight into their backs and get them out the way, same as those who stop at the exit turnstile and then decide to fumble around getting their payment cards out., off you feck :D

That and the bell ends who cannot be arsed (or lack the intellect) to fish out their passes and tickets before they reach the barriers. Their bone idle stupidity is compounded when, having passed through the barrier, they immediately stop. The same arseholes will, when arriving at the mid-platform access, stop and gawp in wonder at the tracks, thereby blocking every other passengers’ access and denying them the right to gaze in slack jawed amazement at the electric railway.

Hotel certainly knows how to charge. Just over £200 quid for the Saturday night.
I hope you are all worth it

Thursday ?
My next job booking a train from Leeds.

and use the split ticketing thing, not necessarily on the Trainline app as the savings can vary as explained at

Good shout Re: Split Ticketing.
I however sense that fellow traveling could be less bothered with the faff on saving a few quid. A bit like ~£130 more on a hotel room (as an example) for the sake of convenience (see post #111). I might be totally wrong and don’t see any logical sense in fellows decision making.

all we can do is offer advice. He is free to act upon it or ignore it. Let's not get into lecturing the chap about how we think he has made the wrong choices for *his* adventure to get south of the River Trent.
