Doc does Spain with our lass

Wondering whether the Irati route from Larreu to St Jean Pied de Port would be good for Doc and the Boss. There are a few hairpins going up and down but the route itself is the best of the French Pyrenees IMHO.

It's easy on my little X-Country but not sure about a laden Indian. Have you thought about this Chris or anyone else have any thoughts?

Not thought of any routes yet Simon
I’m sure I heard you ride past about 15 minutes ago…. a mile and a half away :D
You bloody will soon.

Three nights getting down Johnny.
Fantastic
We’re thinking of a similar route on the way home, after disembarking from Portsmouth, in late September
So much more civilised to add a few UK nights on the way north

Yes. If you are thinking of staying in Ironbridge stay here. Definitely worth a visit. We've enjoyed our trip down so far.

And staying here tonight and on the way home to cut the journey down.

With a pikey site behind?
Hope your bike is fully insured!
And mind the average speed cameras up that road too. :thumb2

it's static park homes occupied mostly by geriatrics who can't afford a house in Cheltenham. Stupidly expensive still, compared to a proper house further north.

although, it's not a hotel I would recommend as it is a bit remote if you want to see a bit of the town in the evening (there is the 94 bus running past every hour through the night if Doc wants to go clubbing).

I’m sure it’ll be fine. :thumb2
There looks to be a few small parking spaces right by the entrance.

Have a detour up into the Elan Valley. :thumb2 Most picturesque. You can then call into the bikers cafe at Crossgates after. It’ll be busy today.

No clubbing

I had a look. Must admit I was worried when you mentioned that.

Cheers. See what time we arrive.

Checking out a possible route for leaving Jaca and heading to the French coast. One of my favourite passes, Larrau, if it's not for you Doc then neither will be the Irati, which runs along the French side just below the summit ridge with similar scenery and conditions to the pass here above the tree line.

Also shows how you can tell the weather over the frontier - if the clouds are rolling over it's probably not worth doing!

I enjoyed Larrau and then the D18/D19 west to st Jean. I was on a more nimble bike, either my S1000XR or R1200RS, forget which.

From Jaca, a @Doc more friendly route is up to Canfranc Estacion to gawp at the old train station. Then into France to pick up the D918 at https://maps.app.goo.gl/jNaGSksNbRGe73en6 and stay on this road to the coast. More undulating terrain in the foothills with fewer tight hairpins.

That's only a couple of miles from me

I thought that Hotel had been taken over by the Home Office to house our visitors?

There used to be 100s of bicycles parked at the front.
