Doc does Spain with our lass

McDonalds not far away if food is required at tea time.

😂😂😂. Very good.

goddam dreadful things...really dont understand those that want to go on cruises. I did a ''cruise'' on a containership - one of ours - many years ago which was a lot more fun. Spent most of the time on the bridge. Food was amazing and the wife loved the Owners Cabin which was like a small flat. Cost me nowt!:LOL::LOL:
I’ve looked at cargo ship voyages before, the attraction is maximum 14(?) passengers, more and they need a doctor, decent cabins and food and free access to the bridge and engine room.
I would take a sextant and see if I could plot our route. Cost was about €100 a day before Covid, availability dropped after it.

I assume Doc and Mrs Doc are on deck whale watching, ship spotting and taking the sea air.

In the old days, about 15 years ago, several companies offered Containership cruises and the rates you quoteof $100 epr day were about right.
A lot of the container shipping lines for legal, health and safety dropped them. I am not aware of any being offered anymore. It has become very complex now with most of the ships chartered therefore the owners have to agree. Also 14 px - that's way to high. Most accepted max 4 per voyage simply based on the accomodation availability. There is always the owners cabin which is the same as the Captains cabin and is normally huge. Other cabins are the pilots quarters and they normally have a double for junior officers. My old Company Hamburg Sud were prolific and the voyages would be to South Amercia mainly.
I have done 3 ''cruises''. West Coast US; Joined in LA and sailed up the West Coast of US and got out in Vacouver, and a couple of coatsal Eurpean tours - each lasting just over a week. Sublime. Peace and quiet and interesting.

you seem to have lost an understanding of British humour if you think that was a serious recommendation

anyway, the Spanish seem to be going the same way as the French with more and more international chains, pizzeria, Irish pubs etc such as this one in Jaca. Pub Dublin Road in Jaca
Yes, I probably have lost my sense of humour - it's an age thing ...

You're right about the chains but only in tourist areas, including Jaca sadly. Irish themed bars are a bit passée now!

I just knew you’d hate the ferry . 😜
I love it as it’s a relaxing way to start a holiday .
Looking forward to seeing how you get on with dining in Spain seeing as they don’t all get up at 0400, have t’tea at 1600 and are tucked up in bed by 1930 😜
It’s going to be an eye opener 🤔

Rovert2 is GO ! 😂

Cruises, Got to be like being on a floating shopping mall, and you cant escape, they seem to appeal to a captive audience.

I suppose Brittany Ferries could take away all but one bar, remove the entertainment , cinema and restaurant and just leave a buffet restaurant to make it more like a basic ferry . That would probably be better for many on here 😜

Actually I read it here that proper tossers self cater and kip down in a corner so chuck out all the cabins too . Sorted
