Doc does Spain with our lass

Source of the Tagus river, the longest on the Iberian peninsula , and at the centre of a network of fabulous roads , real sweeping bends country :)

And another moving day today on to Jaca 270 miles and going back up country.
Again lovely roads and countryside round here.
@Simon_100 when are you turning up pal ?

Another hot day and it'll be well over 30 around Zaragoza! So make sure you have plenty of fuel, you pass a filling station as you leave Daroca, and make sure you're on the motorway from Carinena, where you ride past another filling station, onwards.
Beyond Zaragoza there's a nice service station about half way to Huesca - look out for the sign for the penitentiary! - and you can park right in front of the cafeteria if you ride through the filling station there.
Don't forget to turn off the motorway at Huesca as otherwise you'll be on motorway all the way and miss a fabulous road section - enjoy!

One of the very best roads in Spain , the famous N260 starts just east of Jaca and runs for about 330 miles all along the Pyrenees to the coast at the border with France .
Shame you’ll be turning west after Jaca.

I'll make him a little bimble along it for tomorrow's run :)

Here you go Doc.

Notes.

The first section to Boltaña is little known but in my view one of the best roads in te Pyrenees, partly for that reason - the N-260 is overcrowded! - but it's a tad narrow in places and tere are some hairy hairpins going downhill at the far end ...

Ainsa is a very special place where the old town, long abandoned, has been restored to its former glory. It's a bit touristy but worth stopping. Head up to the car park behind the castle to avoid a slog uphill to see the old town.

There are great restaurants up there but more reasonable ones down in the new town and the cross roads area.

Coming bak westwards on the N-260 you pass the entrance to the amazing Ordessa National Park - think Yosemite valley in the States - it's definitely worth riding up to Torla to see into it from there, otherwise you might be able to ride right in on a Friday now that the holiday peak season is over.

I'm taking you up and over into France - it's a Pyrenees tour must do! - but of you're tie is running low you can simply ignore this and head straight home from Biescas.

I can't seem to copy the link to post the actual map link here!

Nice one as long as there is no goat tracks single tracks. Don't forget I'm on a massive tank.

Your mission if you care to accept it....

You have to get Jayne to take a photo on the move with your face in the wing mirror 😱😎😁

Next time.

Staying here for anyone who might be looking for digs if they visit the area.
Parking is €10 Euro per day for one space or you can share a car space if more than one of you and share the cost.

Bugger. Bloody shops in Jaca.
Bonus there are bars. And feeling very cosmopolitan eating olives & drinking beer.
Footnote.
probably be shitting through the eye of a needle tomorrow. 😅
