Doc does Spain with our lass

If you get a late afternoon or teatime ferry berth from Portsmouth or Plymouth, then it’s easily doable from Yorkshire in a daytime day

Then you have a day to relax onboard

On the way back, if the the ferry arrives late in the afternoon or is delayed I book a night in Princetown on Dartmoor- about 30 mins from the terminal and then you have the next day to get home

Later in September we are coming into Portsmouth at 1.30-2pm and stopping over near Hay on Wye for the night on the way home

Yes, we used to do it in a oner and get home at 10pm …..but as you get older, why bother
Cheltenham for us. 150 miles from Plymouth and half way home.

Back in 2019 I was glad of the Princetown berth, ferry from Santander was due at 2pm and it was delayed until 6.30pm and it was mid October, so nights drawing in and it was raining

Tempers and emotions were running high with bikers and some guys I was travelling with weren’t happy with a long, wet & dark ride home with many getting home at 1-2am

I was in the B&B by 7.30pm and in the pub by 8 pm

I was thankful and had a great dry ride home the following day

Fab report Doc and a great pleasure meeting you at last. Make sure to come our way next time and sample our hospitality - there's room in the garage even for your monster and a nice spare room with its own bathroom :) And, er, let me know when the ferry actually embarks and I'll open un the dungeon and ket the virgins out, they're crawling up the walls having me incarcerated for their own safety for nineteen days!

Thanks pal.

Still enjoying your holiday pics and reports, I'll be pissed off when you get home ....having said that the weather reports from Slawit aren't too bad ...ride safe you two
Fine on Tuesday and Wednesday would be good.
Fingers crossed 🤞

I think Chris means the long slog down from Slawit to Plymouth .
It’s a three day ride, FFS 😜
It’s a mission driving down from the north, those softie southerners don’t know how fortunate they are to have the ports close by.

Then again, they also have the high density population to deal with, and the fact they’re miles and miles away from Gods Own County…

We once had a family of black pigs trott across the rd in front of us from undergrowth very simlar to that; it was up in the mountains near monterjaque in southern spain;; it just brought it back seeing that. :beerjug: oh; and when it rains boy does it rain.

It did today and getting to the stage I was going to pull off for a while.

Has boredom set in yet? 🤪 how many laps of the deck have you completed already?
Bon Voyage to you both.
Cheers. It set in waiting with all the others.
