Didn't have taxi signs on them. Plus spotted on a couple of vans. Are you sure the blue number plated cars were not Dutch taxis?

hire cars ?What country are the cars with Blue number plates on ?
Probably not after my magazine worthy report.Could be trader plates I guess ............. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_Netherlands#:~:text=Taxis will have a blue, the person in the car.
BTW, thanks for taking the trouble to post the trip report Doc - I hope it encourages others to give the area a try.
I stayed on the autobahn for one junction when I rode up to the ferry at Hirstals... madness. Belgium is just as bad, the ring road around Antwerp, deep tramlines from the lorries that fill with water and everyone tailgating each other.... I would rather be somewhere else! I came off and rejigged the sat nav with motorways turned off, the smaller roads were fantastic, quiet, nice surface no maniacs in 4 litre BMWs doing 200kph+ in the pouring rain.... funny thing was after I turned off, the A road ran parallel to the autobahn about a field or two away, the autobahn was on raised up ground and it had come to a grinding halt with red lights everywhere... I remember a tailback of about 6 miles, my road had nothing on it. Obviously idiot features in his fast car had made everyone late, by trying to go tooo fast. It is a weird fact that going a bit slower actually gets you there sooner!Must be very intimidating for a first time rider on the German autobahns. Must go very wrong for the cars if an accident happens at the speeds they go.
Look five times before overtaking lorries.
Talking to Mordor?Just waiting to board then it's Beer'o clock.
Oh and this is Jaynes light up mirror. Doesn't take up much space.

And back home.Well? It's gone quiet Doc! Hope you're back safe and sound.
One little niggle that the back rest is a bit low. That can be cured the by extending it but would need to go to a engineering place. And Jayne's verdict on the Harley?
