Doc the Northerner does the big one. London.

Genuine question. Are you actually allowed to park your bike there and how much?
I’m going to be in London on and off for another 6 weeks or so and was thinking about bringing one of my bikes down next time. I’ve heard about all the theft - so won’t park on the streets. Anyone have any recommendations??
Yes you can park there Tom, no it doesn’t cost anything, I think that the only restriction is park whilst you are using the facilities and def not overnight.

Thanks to all for a lovely afternoon / evening yesterday.

Particularly to Grant for organising the restaurant and for the lanyard - very useful (and for the lid -mucho thanks for that Grant)
Thanks to Tom for the Uber, and wishing you and yours well with everything that life is throwing at you.

Doc did indeed greet lots of Londoners yesterday, ‘Eh ups’ and ‘How do’s’ aplenty and true to form only a couple actually spoke to him, most saw this ‘hard arsed looking’ biker and quickly moved aside as if he was from Mars

Well that’s London.

Welcome to our world Chris

👍👍

Big chain and decent locks.
If you have an hotel with private parking, you're ok.
I’m actually staying in accommodation near Russell Square and there’s a motorcycle bay right at the front door with those ground anchors. I’ll hear my alarm going off too 🤔

I think you'll be ok to be fair.
It also really depends on the bike (my GS is currently parked up the road behind the office as weather was too shit to cycle to work today :D ).

I live a couple of miles from Russel Square.
I dove have a spare Oxford chain that I keep as an extra when I leave my GS parked outside at my place and not in its garage with the other bikes.
You are welcome to borrow that while you stay in London. It's a bit rusty as it's been sitting outside for years now, but it's still an extra thing you can add on the bike and saves you taking an extra chain on the trip.

But, again, I wouldn't stress too much.
