Documents required for entering Morocco - Worrying Oversight - Advice Needed!

Hi all,

This is all a bit embarrassing, but Im due to catch the portsmouth - bilbao ferry this friday en route to Morocco. As a pre-trip check I've just started re-reading Tim's extremely useful Morocco Knowledge base information pages. Alarmingly I looked at my V5 and my driving licence to find that the V5 is registered to my current flat in London and my driving licence is to my family home in York.

Feeling more than a little stupid, I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced such an oversight and whether it caused them problems getting into Morocco. Looking at the DVLA website, it advises 10 days on turning around a new driving licence and 4-6 weeks on the V5.
Any advice gratefully received!

I just did a "driving licence" word search and found further positive answers within this section. Apologies for repeating questions and thanks for responding - I cant deny a mad panic overcame me when I spotted the possible problem!

The only time anyone will want to see your driving license is if you have an accident that involves a third party. Then the local Police will want to see it, but as has been suggested, tell them you have two homes and providing the names match, there will be no problem.

At the border, they will want to see the V5, Passport and "green card" insurance. Even if you don't have the insurance, they'll let you in and you can buy it in the next town after the border, if crossing via Ceuta.

Provided your V5 and Passport have exactly the same name, you'll have no problems. Even then, a small "fee" will smooth it all over. :augie

Moroccan border police do not take bribes for legal/illegal matters. Everybody else does. :rob
