Best forecast of the week, so had a wee spin out on the XR, to do a bit of revisiting a few lanes

Started off on a few steady lanes, not far from home - glorious views on the way to Masham

After Masham, I decided to go over into Nidderdale and up high onto the Grouse Moors

The best views are up there and the big skies prevail and today was no exception, with storm clouds brewing

Found a waterfall and stopped for a pic

I ventured further towards the area boundary

Stunning views and big skies and standing stones in the last pic, high on the escarpment

After Lofthouse I decided to do a lane I haven't done for about 10 years to Scar House

The trail was rockier than I remembered it and pretty tricky in places on the descent (perhaps I shouldn't have been alone)

I did about 25-30 miles of trails, they go on for miles and remind me of the Picos or Pyrenees

God's Country.................that is Yorkshire:thumb

Finished off with a spot of lunch in the square @ Masham, with tea and a bacon sarnie from Bordar House teas

The Maypole celebrations were in full swing and I was treated to some Maypole dancing, ceildh and a bit of Morris dancing performed by the primary school children, a fine English tradition and a great way to end a stunning trail ride

(there were a few 'yummy mummies' too;):drool)
