I went through the Pyrenees on holiday earlier in the summer. Had a great time on the GS and it did (nearly) everything I asked of it.

However, on the hairpin bends I had great difficult making a smooth transition from no throttle to slight positive throttle. The power came on very suddenly. The trick was to trail the brake through teh corner to smooth this out.

However, I'd like to get rid of the very sudden power delivery on light throttle. Any suggestions?

Hi
I think it almost impossible to avoid the sharp take up at low speed due to the slack in the trans system.
If you can feed in the throttle as you begin to turn in all well and good - but this is not possible on a really tight hairpins such as found on the Stelvio so I just slip the clutch a little as the throttle is opened to soften the take up.
It also helps my mechanical conscience not hearing the transmission slapping to and fro!!

Unless your bike`s seriously out of tune it sounds more like your riding technique needs examination rather than the bike does.

I`m not piss taking...just comparing your experience with mine over a few years of riding the major passes in the French/Italian Alps both solo and two up without experiencing what you`ve posted.

I keep a gentle pressure on the rear brake when down slow turns (as in hairpins and U turns). It takes up any transmission slack and enhances control (IMHO). Seems to me you were doing the right thing! :thumb2
