does '03 GS have linked brakes ?

There is no defined degree of how the braking pressure is divided, the ABS computer decides on the front/rear split depending on load, speed & road surface.

bloody clever, BM onboard computers..... scuse the french but how the f*ck would they know what the ROAD SURFACE is like?! do they have a built in camera to have a little look before allowing you to brake? Isn't the rider clever enough to work this out?! I'm surprised BM's onboard computers even us take our bikes out of the bloody garage - its far too dangerous!

It can tell the difference between a solid surface like tarmac or concrete and a loose surface like gravel, stones etc......wheels behave differently on different surfaces and the ABS sensors on each wheel are extremely sensitive to these differences and gather the data and then send it back to the ECU.

(which given the level of understanding of the average '03 pilot who have posted on this particular thread might not be a bad idea)
so you have all the answers do you ?

I think not :upyou :upyou :upyou

How does the saying go ? airheads for airheads ?

I know from speaking too a few Black bird riders the linked braked cause problems in slippy conditions.. especially front end wash outs on roundabouts in the rain.

I may be misreading this, in which case apologies, but why are you braking on wet roundabouts in the first place?

You resort to this 'put-down' every time and yet it doesn't work cos I have BOTH, now next time you decide to have the latest and greatest all because you're to minging tight to get a 36K mile service done, do your research or have the nouse to not get fleeced by MBW dealers on servicing and stick with what you know :upyou

It sounds like one or two GS owners need to take their machine out on an empty straight road and try out the brakes.

Locking the back with the pedal is easy. Locking up anything by hand is not but do try full-on brakes on gravel - its a curious effect.
