Does anyone from Touratech check out this forum?

Thats what's needed. Another importer would make any sole supplier up their game.

OR CRASH :(

Or, perhaps an even easier solution is an attitude change and new business philosophy at the existing suppliers.

I have a newsletter going out on Thursday, then I can lift the embargo I have on the news I want to tell you.

I for one await this with keen interest.

I tried to buy some spares just now for my Zega cases - they suggested I buy a complete fitting kit just to replace a few parts - guess it would have been less trouble.

They're going to call me back with prices - clock ticking.....

Edit: I'm a bit mystified by the pricing also. A fitting kit in the UK is £49.96 whilst the same fitting kit in France is £38.26 (€43.99) - why is it more than £10 (25%) more expensive in the UK than in France?

TT has been very good to me and my friends

Twice over the last 5 years have I seen TT USA go above and beyond what would be considered normal business practices.

Helping a friend rebuild a shock they didn't sell, allowing strangers to sleep in their shop because they couldn't afford Seattle hotels; Calling the man himself (Herbert) to help solve a problem with an item that they were trouble shooting.

less we forget that the company markets to probably less than 5% of the motorcycle industry and they don't keep a lot of stock on the shelves. This isn't walmart. When an item is popular or not ordered often they may be making it as fast as to order.

in the land of convenience instant gratification, waiting for something seems to be inconceivable given the audience. sometimes items don't arrive when predicted.

Who are "they' UK, or France, TT?

It can be the case that individual spare parts, when added together, are more than a set..."they" could have been doing you a favour!

TT UK.
We'll see

If you are fortunate enough to be able to buy TT parts for less in France as a resident, I'm not clear why you opt to
1. spend more to buy them in the UK
2. then complain about it
3. post a kind of complaint here, even before there's anything to complain about.

I'm guessing that whatever the outcome Stolzy, that there will be some aspect you will be unhappy with, it just comes across in the tone of your writing.

I know you could only have spoken to one guy yesterday, not a "they".
I know he will have asked for the spares prices, (we have to ask Germany for individual prices where kits are broken down into components) immediately. He will then let you know as soon as he hears back.

What, exactly, other than that, are you expecting here?

Did he take your order professionally?
Guess so, but you don't mention it.
Did he offer an alternatives that would be quicker and even possibly less expensive?
Yes he did, yet you turn that into an accusation.

I don't get it Stolzy, this guy on behalf of TT is doing exactly what you requested, yet that's not good enough and warrants a message here. Why my friend, why?

I've mentioned this before. I went to a bed shop. Saw the bed I wanted in the shop, it was there. I was told it would take 30 days, to get to me. The shop was less than 20 miles away and even the warehouse was in the same country. Now that's accepted, and lets be honest, a bed can be a bit more of an essential, I mean , I've never slept in, nor had sex in a zega pannier before (I believe that if you are considering this the rokstraps are worth purchasing). 98.7% of deliveries made within 7-10 working days and that includes the items sourced from Germany. Okay that leaves 1.3% we are pissed about and working on sorting out. It's usually that Germany have run out too when we have an issue and since their new premises and production line improvements that's getting to be a rare occurrence.

We too have put people up, over night. We've let a customer winter his bike with us this year. I've had messages from Herbert about questions customers have raised and we posted on the internal TT forum where all TT employees around the world can give feedback if they know the answer and the big boss comes back with the answer. That's just great to see.

I stopped a guy paying more than he needed to, yesterday, he didn't need the MvG bracket...yep it would have fitted and done the job, but the less expensive solution was a better option for his style of riding. He'd placed the order on line initially, following advice from this very site.

The day before I was sharing tips on paradores and points of interest in N.Spain with a guy, now several customers and I are organising a trip to Libya next year.

I could go on and on and on with the positives, they happen every day in more numbers than it seems appropriate to recount. Yet that's not what rocks folk's worlds. That's not what folks will accept. TT in the UK has been 3 guys, sometimes just 2, yet look at how many bikes have TT kit. Look at how the business has grown...something must be right, and what could be better is being made better, right now, this week.

We've agreed with Germany to take the largest order of stock we've ever taken (no returns here, so we are having to guess what you folks will want over the next 6 months). Then as promised there's more news to come on Thursday/Friday after I've sent out our customer's newsletter.

Oh and we're taking on a new member of staff, a fellow tosser, who starts on 4th May. He'll help with the showroom and sales, but is also a parts fitter and mechanic, so we will be re-opening the servicing area wk/comm 10/May.

Having lived in Seattle, I know that Tom and the team there are equally as driven to provide exceptional products and service, so glad to hear that's your experience.

I would just like to say I have neever had a problem with TT pay your money get it next day. Well I did last week.

If not in stock at least they tell you.

Thanks.
And I didn't promise you a discount voucher or anything did I uncle MGJ?
ooops!

ROKstraps have too much flex, the lid kept hitting her in the head.:eek

Personally speaking, the only way I'd get a woman to have sex with me on a pannier (or anywhere else probably, come to think of it) would be to hit her on the head...first.
