after a recent accident on my beloved r1100s and still on the mend and awaiting insurance to sort itself out...stupid bloody blind car drivers fault (she admitted liability so thats one less worry for me)
..anyway contemplating where/what im gonna do next. i have been considering getting an r1150 rockster again, or after finally having a good thrash on a mates-a 1150gs. despire my still youthful age my various injuries are starting to hamper any kind of distance or prolonged riding on anything sporty, although my r1100s is endurable enough, im looking at biti,ng the bullet and getting summit a little more upright.
the only downfall is in comparisson to my 1100s, the 1150 boxer engines just arent quite powerful enough....now considering the engine etc on my r1100s is still intact and a bloody good one too, and assuming i get the bike back as scrap-
it looks like i could almost to a straigt engine swap into a 1150gs. the motronic is the same, the gearbox would need to be kept as the gs due to frame mountings...some ancillary work possibilities but all engine mounting the same..assuming i got a single spark gs as my s is the same the loom will be almost identical
question is, anyone had a go?
nothing in concrete yet, just ideas swanning round my head as im firmly stuck on the sofa with a laptop as my only vice.
