I may have to entirely rethink my GPS strategy for Green Laning - having just discovered Garmin TopoMap!

I gather that file sizes are fairly chunky, so it may have it's limitations, but it does show many paths and lanes (although I understand that you cannot 'route' on them).

Does any body use it?

I`m using it on my 276c. Your right about the file size, its big (1663.8 MB) but the Topo GB is made up of loads of segments (750 in fact), so you can be very selective on what you want to load onto your unit.

I like to use it for walking, as it shows a lot of Topographical features that are very useful while walking. I use it in conjunction with Memory Map.

One of the reasons for going for the 276c, was a large screen, internal battery, to use on the bike and out walking using Topo GB. It was extremely handy having it when we recently went up to the summit of Ben Nevis. Once we were past the snowline and the cloud cover made vision very poor, our trusty compass and the 276c with Topo GB helped make a safe climb all the way to the top (we did also have a paper map as well). :thumb

Topo maps are the reason I'm looking at an additional GPSR - 60csx seems favourite so far.

I understand that these maps will work reasonably well with a 2610.

Clive, the 60csx would be perfect for the TopoGB. :thumb

Unfortunatly they won't work with the 2610. These are mostly aimed at the handheld range of units but does also work with the quest.

Hope this helps. :thumb

Blue, yes they are. The guy in ICE Leicester was trying to flog it to me last week when i was in there. Looks a little complicated to me!!!!! :nenau

I think it was about £100 (not sure) i was more interested in the Garmin Nuvi i was looking at.

ICE can four kright off after ripping me off last time.
Only the thread of court action changed their bloody tune and they are right pompous gits......called all you UKGSer guys on here liars, saying that you were lying when telling of stories about the 2620 not being suitable for bikes.
