I called BMW insurance (Devitts) today to check whether I'm covered for Iceland. No, the lady said. Are you sure I said? Definitely no. Bugger.

Googled "motorbike insurance" and "Iceland" and Devitts came up top so I called again to ask about their own insurance and a bloke this time asked about my existing policy and when I said it was BMW he said I was covered anyway. Are you sure I asked? Definitely, yes

I asked him to send confirmation so we'll see. Does anyone know for sure if Iceland is covered?

1) Devitts are the Broker, Not the Insurance Company - that's NIG who are BMW Motorrad insurers.

2) Check your Certificate of Motor Insurance. On the back of the Cert., under European Cover, it states:-
"This certificate of motor insurance takes the place of an International Insurance Card (Green Card) and is evidence that the Insurance extends to include the compulsory Motor Insurance requirements of:-
A. any member country of the European Union.
B. Canada, ICELAND, Norway, Switzerland."

So, yes. you will be covered in Iceland.
