Hello,
looking at the various sat nav replacements like the Motor Tablet.

some say they fit the BMW mount for the nav 5 or 6, but has anyone tried them in a Touratech lockable mount? do they fit, would they if you removed the side pieces of the mount?

anyone done it?

Do you mean a Touratech lockable mount for a Garmin Zumo XT (or XT2)?

Edit:-
Devices sold as BMW Satnav Preparation compatible means they clip into the existing SatNav cradle and use the existing pins.
However, the BMW cradle does not extend round the edges, so unless the device is the same width and depth as the BMW satnav, it is unlikely to fit any wraparound lockable mount designed for the BMW Navigator device.
To get a Garmin XT/XT2 to work with the BMW cradle, it uses a different set of connections so you have to use something like a 3DAM adapter.

Edit2:
Pics of a Chigee AIO-6 with Chigee's BMW Quick Release adapter for use with the BMW Cradle.
Also a Garmin Zumo XT2 and a the Touratech locking wraparound XT2 mount.
The AIO doesn't fit in the XT2 - it sits proud of the clamps and it wouldn't work either without having to modify the pin connections.
