When out in the wilds does one need a phone signal to be able to use MRA on your Atchoo or whatever it's called ? 2 good friends in Spain/Portugal at the moment and have given up with it as it's "not behaving".
🤔

Download offline maps when the have a signal/wifi...

Click on the button at the top right of screen 2 to go to the app settings. Here you will find the offline maps. Check carefully which regions you are going to drive through and download the correct maps in the app; Take your time to download regions.

It depends on what your chums are trying to do and quite what “not behaving” means. If they have assumed it’s plug and play easy, then they are mostly correct, but maybe not entirely. Can you throw some more light on what it is they are struggling with, please.

The MyRoute Navigation app will function perfectly well without a phone signal. I use it in a sacrificial phone, with no SIM card at all.

As far as I know, the AochoiChiggee whatsit, simply mirrors what is on the phone. So no SIM card needed there.

If however, they are trying to access the cloud based MyRoute website, where they have stored or created routes, they will need an internet connection, which (if they are not sitting in McD’s) might well require a phone signal, too. When they do reach the Golden Arches, they should also synchronise the routes they want to use off-line, providing that is they have downloaded the offline maps too.

Your turn now….
