just got my 2002 gs back from dealer today (after 12000 mile service)

was told that they didn't replace front pads as there was no need, but they greased the pins and replaced the calipers...

cast my eye over them this evening and they look like they are missing some sort of cover...

any advice/guidance gratefully received.

12000 miles and you've only just taken a good look at your brakes... Should've had em off from new and greased em up. Do mine twice a year and never have any problems, i don't trust dealers to clean em and grease em properly. So, in answer to your question... they're normal.
