would'nt the dealer have to register it then, when they buy it of BMW?

surely it only needs registered when its needing taxed and insured for road use!

It doesn't bother me, I'm just interested to know how it's left BMW without being registered.
I didn't email the guy as he could give me some spiel but I still wouldn't know if what he said would be right or not.
In the guy's defence he does have 100% feedback.
 
he says he traded in his bike and it got delivered early so got it delivered to his home unregistered to be registered at his desire.
Says the bike is too big to getting rid.

when is the new reg due out, not up on these things living in guernsey.

why couldn't you buy a bike off a dealer without registering it?:nenau Anyone can register a vehicle.As long as it's registered before going on the road thats fine.
 
My local Yamaha dealer often sells unregistered sports bikes to guys who use them just for track days.

I can't believe he bought the bike without at least sitting on one first and realising it was too big then :blast
As said new plate not out until September.
 
You can walk into BuMW Park Lane and walk out with an unregistered 1000RR tucked under your arm and take it racing. They will even kit it up to Superstock class or, I guess, even BSB if you have enough dish.

Sounds more like an idiot than a crook. How can you only discover your GSA is "too big" after you've bought it? :blast

In 1998 I bought a VFR800 in Nov, had it delivered

Put it in my garage til March and registered it then as a 1999T

It was worth another £500 as a tradein, being a 1999 - when I traded it for a R1100RT later in August:augie

No drama, load of cynics here:rolleyes:
