I collect my shiny new tomorrow, and if that's not enough.....

I got a call from TWO magazine this morning. I have won a full set of biking clobber in a recent comp!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

My riding is touring based with some summer commuting. I'd appreciate it if you would read through my smugness and pass your recommendations around the following parameters:

Shoei x-spirit in Silver (or a xr1000 with graphics)
Spada gloves
Spyke leathers - Rubicon (red) - (or a I can haggle a suit of leather, textile of mixed)
Sidi Vertigo boots (again, they are willing to haggle for another type)

Anyone got any of this kit?
Should I trade down from the top of the range helmet (Silver suits) for the "lesser" but graphixed xr1000?
How do the Sidi courier rate?

Sorry if this seems gloaty, but I've had nothing but good advice from the group to date and appreciate the input.

Thanks

It's all cheap crap from a couple of years ago, obviously been sat around gathering mould etc, worth bugger all & the sizing is wrong.

However, I'm prepared to take it off your hands, £50.00 okay?

I knew I could count on the the genuine, selflessness of the group to see me through this period of deep distress.

Many thanks Steve. I've PM'd you with my account detail. Where should I send it all to? Do you mind if I cover postage by way of returning the favour?

Fair deal but note that I'm not going to make a pint of bailing you out every time you :eek::eek::eek: like up this..... THere comes a time when you have to stand on you own two feet!

My Shoei XR-1000 is a great helmet.
Light, aerodynamic, ventilation that works when you want it to, good fit, adjustable thickness cheek pads. I do wear earplugs due to my noise sensitive lug holes.
And I wasted a perfectly good stamp on that competition. Damn  PB

Sidi boots leak most people say they are great but if you ride in the rain for more than 4-5 hours they leak
Gaz

PB, I reckon I've bought these at retail if you add up the number of texts or stamps I've sent off without reply. Your day will come mate.

Gaz, which model held out longest? I can't look a gift horse in the proverbial so I'll make a mental note, not to exceed 4 hours riding in rain ;)

Keep it coming people, it's muchly appreciated.

Unless you have a pair of SIDI Black Rain EVO 2. I've had mine for 2 years now, wear them all year round and they are excellent! :beerjug:

Yes, the couriers do leak...but they're bloody good boots protection-wise.

I squished my foot and lower leg into an armco in Kidbrooke wearing mine...the black scrape mark is still there, but my foot and leg survived.

One of the guys who reported an accident here in ther last week or two was also wearing couriers and came off ok (sorry, can't remember who it was)

If i'm out in proper wet stuff, I just wear a pair od sealskin socks.

No idea about the rest of the kit you list, but 'grats on your good fortune :thumb :D
